Work in progress at the Grand Phare, reopening planned for April 2026:

Since September 22, DIRM NAMO staff have been working on replacing the lighthouse's lantern tank with a new-generation oil bath tank. This work (in particular the dismantling of parts of the dome) requires them to remove the normal light to operate on the emergency light. This means a reduction in its range. A nautical information notice will be issued between 22 September and 10 October (when the work is due to be completed) to inform mariners. The lighthouse will therefore be closed to visitors at the end of September and the site closed to the public, with a planned reopening next April.
