Sandrine Desmarets, who is passionate about the natural heritage of the Ile d'Yeu, is an ornithologist and nature guide with the Heritage Department of the Town Hall and her organisation, L'ile en bandoulière.

Sandrine Desmarets, who is passionate about the natural heritage of the Ile d'Yeu, is an ornithologist and nature guide with the Heritage Department of the Town Hall and her organisation, L'ile en bandoulière.
The author of a superb book illustrated by Benoit Perrotin and published last year by the Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux de Vendée, Yeu Ile Nature, Sandrine is also co-president of the Yeu Demain association, which works to raise awareness of the issues facing the island.
Her credo: to help us understand the island's different natural environments and to help us ask the right questions so that we can act more effectively to protect the island's exceptional biodiversity.
