Archaeology Tuesdays: Minoans and Mycenaeans, the Bronze Age in the Mediterranean
In early protohistory, copper and bronze played an increasingly important role in the economy, encouraging long-distance trade. The Mediterranean was a privileged witness to these exchanges, and societies with extraordinary cultures flourished: the Mycenaeans in Greece, the Minoans in Crete, the Nuragic civilisation in Sardinia and the Talayotic culture in the Balearic Islands.
