    What is free dance?
Free dance invites you to set your body in motion, guided by the music. It's about expressing yourself freely, daring to be and discovering new areas of freedom. "Between the head and feet of any given person lies a billion miles of unexplored wilderness". Gabrielle Roth

Improvisation, and particularly free dance, offers us the immense pleasure of being able to experience a space where spontaneous "I" and "play" can express themselves; a place where everything is to be created and everything is possible.

In improvisation, nothing is good or bad, only what appears.
The invitation is to let yourself be totally immersed in the experience of the moment, to abandon yourself to your sensations, feelings, images and thoughts. "We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes, we dance for cries, we are the dancers, we create the dreams." Einstein.

In other words, "dancing is about capturing the rhythm of life. It's a way of making poetry with your body and connecting it with your deepest emotions so that you can express them through your movements. In dance, there is happiness, our pain, our life". Asha

Throwing yourself into the unknown and working with what comes along is not always a long, quiet road.
To take this step towards free, authentic and spontaneous self-expression, you'll be carried along by the music and Lola will suggest some simple (but no less profound) explorations!

Every evening there will be different suggestions to support your practice. And as obvious as it may seem, the dancers will be our co-travellers for this exploration of the self: support, mirror, inspiration... Together, we create, we liberate!

So, would you like to take the plunge? This course is open to everyone (aged 14 and over). You don't need to know how to dance or be in any particular physical condition.

"Dance is one of the most profound mediations possible, for the simple reason that when dance reaches its peak, the dancer disappears. There is only dance - there is no one dancing." Osho

    Who is this Lola?
Lola CHESNE has been dancing since she was born, just as many babies dance before they can walk!
After seeing her creative enthusiasm diminish with each dance class where she was asked to repeat a choreography created by the teacher, Lola set off in search of freer spaces for bodily expression.

In the vast field of bodily improvisation, she came across two practices that would greatly inspire her proposals: the dance of the 5 rhythms and contact improvisation.

Since 2021, Lola has been running free dance workshops in the Vendée, particularly on the Ile d'Yeu where she lives. Passionate about people in all their diversity, she works with a wide range of audiences, including children, adults, parents and children, senior citizens and people with special needs.
