The challenges of the new concession for the Port of Île d’Yeu in 2027

At the end of 2027, the Vendée Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (CCI) 30-year concession to manage the port of Île d’Yeu, which is owned by the Vendée department, will come to an end.
This is a crucial issue for the island, given the wide range of port activities – including passenger and freight traffic, recreational boating, fishing and, now, a maintenance base for the wind farm – and the port is also a key symbol of the island’s identity and appeal.
What solutions can be found to harmoniously reconcile these multiple interests and ensure both the vitality and safety of each of its functions? Which operator would be able to guarantee this?

Fabien Dulon, who has extensive maritime experience and was notably director of the Intermarché fishing fleet as well as Yeu Continent, and Sébastien Chauvet, who represents the interests of the island’s fishermen, will share their vision with us.
