Le Vieux Château

  • A fortress standing on a rocky outcrop surrounded by the sea, the Vieux Château, built at the dawn of the Hundred Years' War, has withstood the assaults that have marked its history.

  • Your guide will show you how the defence of such a building and the life of its inhabitants were organised: from the bakery to the parapet walk, from the towers to the drawbridge, the tour will show you all the amenities available in the castle and which were necessary for the daily life of its defenders.

    Prices :
    Guided tour: Adult full price: €6
    Reduced adult admission : 4 € (jobseekers and with Grand Phare adult tickets)
    Young people: €2 (7 to 18 years old and students)
    Under 7s: free

    Self-guided tours:
    Adults and young people €2 - Free for under-7s.

    Ticket office on site. Cash or cheques only. No credit cards accepted on site.

    Practical information
    Unaccompanied minors are not admitted to the sites.
    Please note that wheelchair access is recommended via the old quarry at the end of the rue du Trou d'Enfer, which is not served by the bus. It is a 30-minute walk to the château.
