For over 17 years, this diverse group of singers, The Glory Gospel Singers, under the direction of founder Phyllis McKoy Joubert have spread joy, happiness and unforgettable moments through gospel music over countries around the world. In 2013, they will "hop" again across the Atlantic ocean with a new programme, still more impressive and expressive.
For every show, it is the director Phyllis McKoy Joubert who coordinates the chorale
This year, the singer group will sing in Germany and in France.
The Glory Gospel Singers was founded in 1985 under the name WWRL Community Chorale. It is a singer group of about 70 singers coming from 50 New York communities. Highly professional, the singer group is the living proof of this vivid culture found in black american churches. Songs full of passion, love and inspiration focused towards in what they believe and in what have made these songs so special: the souvenir of slavery and humiliation.
Their colourful clothing, large movements, their genuine simplicity is sure to always fascinate the people who listen to them. It is not rare to see a tear of emotion drop from a singer...and from a listener.
When the singer group sings and claps, people take quickly the beat and the whole church can start dancing. Their songs speak to all of us !
